Maintenance Tips for Hot Tub Owners

Your own personal getaway, hot tubs loosen your muscles, relieve stress and let you unwind. Of course, enjoying these benefits doesn’t come without a little regular maintenance. Caring for the water in your tub or Jacuzzi® may seem like a daunting task, but if you follow a few simple guidelines you can enjoy a well maintained tub without retaking your high school chemistry class.

Daily/Weekly Maintenance:

  • Inspect the tub (cover included) for signs of damage

  • Clean the water line and skimmer basket

  • Test your chemical

  • Regulate the pH level

  • Regulate the sanitizer level

  • Regulate the Total Alkalinity (TA) level

Monthly Maintenance:

  • Thoroughly clean the filter cartridge

  • Regulate the water level according to your manufacturer's specifications

  • Regulate the Total Dissolved Solids (TDS) level

  • Regulate calcium hardness level

It is also important to drain the water in your hot tub periodically as oils, grease and other organic wastes begin to build up. How often you should drain the water depends how much you use your tub. We recommend you change the water every 2 to 3 months. For more information give us a call.
